Submission guidelines

The Carer Knowledge Exchange Research Library contains a growing collection of research about carers and caring. Its current focus is on Australian research from the past 10 years.

This includes publications and resources developed by university researchers, community organisations, government agencies and other authors who have systematically collected information about carers with the aim of improving understanding and practice.

Publications and resources are continually being added by the Carer Knowledge Exchange team, and users can submit their own research, or suggest publications and resources that they think would be a good fit.

To be included in the Research Library, submitted publications and resources must focus on people who provide care and support to a family member or friend who lives with a disability, mental illness, alcohol or drug dependency, chronic condition, terminal illness or who is frail due to age.

  • Anyone with a publicly available research publication or resource about carers is welcome to submit it for consideration. You do not need to be an author to submit a publication or resource - users are welcome to suggest publications or resources they think would be a good fit for the Research Library.

  • Research publications and resources can be submitted through the My Research page. To submit research, you will need to create an account. Once you have created your account, login and click 'Add a publication / resource' to complete the submission form.

Please complete as much information in the form as possible, as this information will be used to determine whether the publication or resource can be included in the Research Library. It will also be used to create the summary page for the publication or resource, and to help users find it when searching the Research Library.

  • All submissions to the Research Library are reviewed by the Carer Knowledge Exchange team, informed by guidelines developed by the Carer Knowledge Exchange Research Advisory Group. Submissions are reviewed internally before being accepted and published online.

You can login to your My Research account to track the status of your submission. If more information is required, or it is determined that your publication or resource is not a good fit for the Research Library, you will be notified.
